Photo of a dental bridgeDental crowns and bridges are two restorative dentistry options that can greatly improve both the function and appearance of your smile. A dental crown is like a cap that is made to fit over a tooth to give it strength, while a bridge holds an artificial tooth in place and is used to fill a space left by a missing tooth. At our practice in Ellenton, we use natural looking porcelain for these restorative dentistry options. In some cases, we can provide a same-day crown. Using the state-of-the-art CS Solutions system, we can create and place your dental crown in just one office visit, rather than two visits required for the traditional placement process.
Graphic of a tooth-colored fillingCavities are one of the most common oral health issues, and, if left untreated, can lead to serious health concerns and more extensive damage. For minor decay and cavities, dental fillings are effective and commonly used restorations. If you have a cavity, a dental filling can restore the form and function of your tooth, help prevent future decay and damage, and improve the aesthetics of your smile.
Dental implants are the most natural looking and functioning tooth replacement option available today, and they are often chosen as an alternative to dental bridges and dentures. A dental implant is a titanium post that is placed in the jawbone to serve as an artificial tooth root and foundation for an artificial tooth. Traditional implant placement involves three visits over the course of several months. However, we are excited to offer one-hour dental implants with Nobel Biocare™ Procera®. This system creates a precise surgical plan so that we can place your implants in one office visit after your initial consultation.
Dentures can bring function back to your smile if you are missing many or all of your natural teeth. At North River Dental, we use advanced technologies and materials to create precise fitting, natural looking full and partial dentures.
Teeth that have been damaged by decay or trauma, but do not require the need for a dental crown, can be treated with inlays and onlays. These durable restorations can help strengthen and protect the damaged tooth, as well as prolong the life of your smile.
If you would like to straighten your teeth without the hassle of traditional braces, Invisalign orthodontics might be the right choice. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear plastic aligners to move teeth into proper alignment over time. Since the aligners are made from clear, smooth plastic, they are comfortable to wear and nearly undetectable. In addition, the aligners can be removed to eat and care for your teeth. Invisalign is often a good alternative to traditional braces for both teens and adults.
A full mouth reconstruction combines several dental procedures into one comprehensive treatment plan, often saving you time and money. A full mouth reconstruction can repair damaged teeth, realign your bite, replace missing teeth, straighten teeth, and replace broken or worn-out dental work through procedures such as dental implants, custom restorations, Invisalign®, or treatment for TMJ disorder. A full mouth reconstruction can bring both harmony and health to your smile.
Brushing and flossing are everyday ways to keep your teeth bright, white and healthy. Still, if you might feel like your smile is lacking some sparkle or is more yellow than it used to be, you’re not alone. Thinking about teeth whitening? Get the facts first. Here are five of the most commonly asked questions about the process.
